《湄公河行動》由彭于晏主演，裡面飾演他愛人的，就是外型搶眼的魏蔓，她笑說雖然很遺憾，只能演一天彭于晏戲裡的愛人，但是卻必須在一天內挑戰「五個第一次」，不僅要大展現代舞技，還得一人獨角戲詮釋染上毒癮，並面對反派男星盧惠光的脅迫，最後更為愛情開槍拯救彭于晏再躺在他懷裡，讓她大呼過癮！
在《湄公河行動》中，彭于晏飾演一位臥底金三角的情報員，但他為何會志願長年留在異鄉執行任務並擔任臥底呢？導演林超賢為彭于晏這角色設計了一段傷心往事：他的前女友正是毒品的悲劇受害者；正因為這段塵封多年的感情記憶，從而激發彭于晏不惜餘力也要打擊販毒集團的決心。

雖然只是回憶戲，導演林超賢為了劇情說服力，還是特地邀請魏蔓客串劇中女友角色，才能匹配大帥哥彭于晏。魏蔓回憶自己2015年剛接到《湄公河行動》演出邀約時，當時只知道這角色戲分雖不多，但要詮釋很多陰暗面性格，覺得是很寶貴的演出經驗，才決定接下角色，?以前演出多是偶像劇類型浪漫角色，我希望能挑戰自己。?後來知道是林超賢導演作品、而且是彭于晏戲裡的情人，心情只能以「開心」來形容，「看過林超賢導演《破風》，覺得他是離我很遙遠的賣座導演；而彭于晏是亞洲男神耶！」她笑說沒想到自己有機會可以跟他們合作拍片。
本以為戲份看似不多，拍攝時間也僅有一天，沒想到她必須在一天之內演出5段不同心情與狀態的戲，震撼考驗讓她大呼過癮，「香港劇組的拍攝過程非常緊湊，我前一天飛到馬來西亞就定裝，第二天一早就起來排練並拍攝現代舞戲，然後一天內拍完其他所有不同的戲。」幸好她事先花了許多心力準備這角色，包括練現代舞等，「除了肢體要更柔軟外，舞蹈還是拍攝前半小時才知道，我只能一大早6點到現場準備，害我好緊張、身體好僵硬。」

劇中角色毒癮發作、施打毒品也是考驗魏蔓的演技，她除了參考不少電影的演出，還上網查詢不少醫學文獻資料，魏蔓笑說她揣摩喝醉後開始出現幻覺的感覺，「醫學文獻說會出現瞳孔放大，我還拿手電筒照自己眼睛，感受那種光線照進眼睛的反應。」其實魏蔓這次最多對手戲是跟男星盧惠光，「我看過他好多電影，而且他好人跟壞人都演過，他根本是港片代名詞吧！」而兩人拍攝暴力脅迫的對手戲，過程讓魏蔓很感動，「他是很棒的前輩，非常紳士，他很擔心我會感覺不舒服，所以事先一再跟我對好每個動作的細節，跟我一再討論表演的方式。」
魏蔓是第一次挑戰動作片，她笑說自己就像「劉姥姥進大觀園」一樣，每件事都大開眼界，但沒想到竟然也可以拿到槍並開槍射擊，「以前拍過拿漆彈槍的戲，真的沒想到這次可以拿到這麼真實的槍枝，心裡其實會害怕有意外，幸好現場還有槍械指導員，拍攝之前還會讓我看槍裡面沒有子彈，讓我放心演出。」至於最重要躺在彭于晏懷裡的對手戲，她也笑說大家可能以為會很浪漫，但根本緊張到都不知道已經拍完了，「因為我的角色當時必須失去知覺，雖然他跑過來抱著我，但我根本不能有任何反應，然後他馬上又跑去跟盧惠光打鬥糾纏；我又很緊張不知道其他人在演什麼，沒想到這場戲就拍完了。」電影將於10月7日上映。
